Quite a handful you have there and i like the mixture of operating systems... i was in a pc store in Dublin and i asked the guy at the counter how well the sales where going with Linux on the netbooks and he replied that many customers returned them, but the good news is they are relatively cheap to buy...
Windows 7 if your hardware is good enough. But for old systems, XP rules.![]()
Hi, Windows-7 is the best and better than XP... My experience i found this.
Windows 7 is better than XP because of 3 main reasons.
1. It has Aero interface without slog, unlike Vista where the slog is a major characteristic.
2. It has greater flexibility for users.
3. It has better protection against malware than Windows XP by asking the user's permission before running any app which XP doesn't have.
Furthermore, some firms use XP because they are not so technically sound and/or they are orthodox like your tech guy. If you have around 1 GB or more RAM, 7 should do just fine. In fact it will do better than XP. I have seen both XP and 7 in shops and firms, each saying something in support of their OS, so it's basically people's personal choice. But as far as I can tell, you'll like 7 more.

Yes you are right -> English is not my nature language = Me talk bad English
Win 7 has the XP's fastness and Vista's beauty. Why wouldn't you love it for this?
Windows 7 do give some problems with old systems. In my desktop, I have both XP and W7 Ultimate, but in W, no aero (tried to find proper drivers without success), no games, no movie maker etc. Also my TV tuner card has no drivers for Windows 7. Why would you buy buy a new system just for Windows 7 when you can do all that on your old system running on XP ?
