    Hi raybky,
You can see "What's your favorite OS?" poll result and Raymond members opinion here:
    http://forum.raymond.cc/general-foru...vorite-os.html

For me: I prefer windows 7. You can still run windows XP in windows 7 (in Windows XP Mode) but Windows XP Mode is only available in Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hi raybky for me i prefer to use XP but as operating systems go, windows 7 is far superior.. why a tech guy said XP is better is strange one indeed unless your pc/laptop is underpowered.. Why not duel boot put XP on first then Win 7 have the best of both worlds .. XP mode is restricted in Win 7 and you can follow the link that Jlebono has left for you as this poll has already been run and as this is your first post

What do you want to do with your computer and what are the specs of it?

If you have a slow computer, XP, same if you want to game older games. If you have a faster system, 7 should do just fine.

The question here should be "what is your favorite OS" because I use all 3. At the same time.

Presently using Win7 as I have won a license to it but I still feel more comfortable with XP...

I prefer to use win7.. I like the way it works and the features in it.. seems to be much faster as well.. but as others have said, depends on your PC as well.. Win7 uses more PC and if you have older, you might be better off with winXP.. but.. if you got a decent enough machine for 7 i would go for that..

you could always do a dual boot like already posted.. and another option (which i currently use) is to get VMware or Virtualbox and you can run a virtual copy of your XP as well and do everything in there that you would do on XP anyway... another thing for compatability is if you install some programs/games.. there is an option to run that program in "compatability mode" so that if say that game only runs on XP and wont work right on your 7, just run it in compatability mode and it "should" run it as if you were running that program on an XP machine..

But, if you have the liscence, try it out.. worste thing is, you dont like it.. and hopefully you have your copy of XP (or just make an image of your machine before your machine before you wipe/install 7) and you could just revert back to XP if you some how dont like 7 or machine cant handle it..

    Hope helps,
    Zug
