TouchFreeze is an open source application that prevents touchpad tapping while typing. It is compatible with:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows Server 2003/2008
Windows Server 2008
Windows 7

Personally, tapping the touchpad and being sent to another line while typing is one of my biggest peeves about my new laptop. I have been using it for a while and can verify it works. TouchFreeze has saved a lot of hair on my head .

Good idea. Thanks. Use a mouse and you won't have the problem.
My wife carries a little wireless mouse with her laptop. She won't use a touchpad, and for good reason!.

Good app, Dell touch-pad ( Alpine ) has lock option that once the mouse is activated, touch-pad is locked for a moment.Apart from it - be sure to practice proper typing and hands position.
