We are using Openthinclient on 5 pcs (I can find the version of OTC if that's useful) using a PXE boot. We have found that the clients don't create records in the Forward Lookup Zone for DNS (either on the PDC or in the replicated DNS zone which exists on the machine which we are using to run the OTC manager). This means that we have 2 options. We can either specify a hardcoded ip address for each machine in the manager or (our current choice), we create records manually in the DNS in order map machine name to IP address. The DNS records seem to get created automatically for physical PCs but not for these VMs. I have tried using the ipconfig/registerdns command on the clients but this doesn't seem to have any effect. If I specify the FQDN in the manager but don't create a record manually, it won't log me in correctly but creating the record manually means that the systems never get a new address although they're using DHCP so it's not an efficient use of IPs.
