CAL Licences for Openthinclients which are connecting to VMs
Hi,
We currently have 5 pcs which are using Openthinclient to connect to 5 virtual machines (1 pc to 1 vm although we could have more than 1 non-simultaneous user on each pc). The pcs and vms have valid licences and they will all be running Windows XP - can you tell me if we would need to purchase CAL licences in order to connect to the vms please?
Many Thanks,
Justin.

As far as i can tell a CAL license, is to do with Faculty/Student campus agreement with Microsoft exchange server, never heard the term myself before as this would not be part of my environment, and i would contact MS ask them to explain..

Hi,
It's a 'Client Access License' which is distributed by software companies such as Microsoft to allow clients to connect to a server and use its software.
You might be correct about contacting Microsoft.
Cheers,
Justin.
