Problem with Nero/Ashampoo in Windows 7
Hi;
What CD/DVD Burning software do you use for Windows 7?
I am a new user of Windows 7 and I just started using it. I was dumbfounded to see that my burning software (Nero7 and Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Advanced) does not work with Windows 7 Professional. Tried it with compatibility using XP SP3/SP2 to no avail.
I was about to do a copy disc(which I usually do in Nero/Ashampoo) but now I had to use ImageBurn to first copy the files in the DVD to my hard drive from where I burn it to disc.
Can you recommend an alternative burning software that is reliable and has no compatibility issues with Windows 7? Freeware and Shareware if possible.
Do Nero/Ashampoo have really compatibility issues with Windows7? If someone uses the on a Windows 7 pc may I know what versions are you using...? OR. if you guys have encountered the same problem or somewhat related problem may you share the "fix"/actions that you did to solve the problem?
Any ideas and inputs on burning software for Windows 7 are very much appreciated.
Thanks!
jason

Depending on what you need to have done, will give you different recommendations. Seeing as I'm mostly burning ISOs to install Linux, I use ImgBurn.... because I do all my other burning under Linux.

Hi,
You can try ----> ''CDBurnerXP''
CDBurnerXP is a
free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free. It does not include adware or similar malicious components.
Operating Systems: Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008/Win7 (x86 / x64)
Best regards !

Nero has a great forum that you could try to get help from. Here

I don't have any extra cd burning software installed, as with Windows 7, I can burn whatever I want to a CD/DVD without it, including .iso files.
There may be a bit of snow on the roof, but there is still a fire blazing in the hearth!

Hi guys;
Very sorry for the late replies. I tried all your suggestions here. Win7's aint bad after all but it's Microsoft so I kinda shy away from them at this time. But it ain't bad. Did the job though I find it a bit slower as compared to ImageBurn 2.5.2. CDBurner XP was like ImageBurn with the addition of grab-dvd whcih ater found out was that it created an image of the dvd I had in drive F and later burned it to drive G. Have not compared th speed with ImageBurn yet though.
The Nero forums told me that I should give Nero10 Lite a try. I did but removed it. First try in Windows 7 (Copy Disc) gave me a Not Responding error. Rats, Win7's native, CDBurnerXP and ImageBurn did what Nero did not.
I think I'll let CDBurner XP(chose the portable one b the way) hang around with me plus use Windows 7's native.
One problem is that I need a software that can be an alternative to Nero Vision and Nero 7's capability to make a photoslideshow.

I was able to create a dvd using Cyberlinks suite.. ive only done it once as the need isn't to great atm for me.. but it worked pretty well and fast.. Cyberlnk and Nero have been the 2 choices around that ive seen people using.. I believe you can still possibly get Cyberlinks swuite for free, but not 100% sure.. i might have gotten is as a limited time giveaway.. but not sure.... k checked, it was from dotech's site but it was a giveaway limited to 10k copies
srry.. but i know the suite has/is working for me so far

@Zug;
It's okay. Someone also recommended Cyberlink but have not checked it out yet. Maybe later. I use Cyberlink but it's the PowerDVD 6(old one which by the way works with Windows 7). You have a good one!

Actually, the burning software that Microsoft integrated into my copy of Windows 7 is made by Sonic, the makers of the Roxio Easy Media Creator. You more than likely have the same.
