Install Windows --> Run Windows Update and install Windows Genuine Advantage list in updates (probably in important updates list). It will inform you whether Windows is genuine or not.

hit Win + R (start if you use Windowx XP), then type "slmgr.vbs -xpr" (without brackets)

you will know if Windows has been activated.

Also follow Boyfriend's advice.

You paid & get from MS or official dealers then should be a legal version.

Install Windows --> Run Windows Update and install Windows Genuine Advantage list in updates (probably in important updates list). It will inform you whether Windows is genuine or not.

Some cracked versions would pass for that & could update for certain periods. For those you cannot say a legal versions.
