    Programs Stuck in Memory

I will end a program, but when I look in the memory using Sysinternals Process Explorer I find that these programs are still active. I try and kill them, but they stay there for about five minutes before they quit.

I have scanned my systems for viruses, malware and rootkits and find nothing.

    Please help!!!

Like Jay said, more information would be more appreciated. Some programs especially security software are made in a way that it is not easily terminated from Task Manager.

    Hi mongoplus

you have an overkilling security arsenal

Zonealarm Pro is a bloated memory eater
    MSE is a CPU eater

Winpatrol Plus is a system monitor, a task manager, an antikeylogger and a light HIPS
you do not need AnVir Task Manager Pro (bundled with adware) and zemana antilogger in other words.

If I were you I would use a different personal firewall as well

    I Hope it helps

Hello! Seems you're in panic mode ah? You box has a very good specs and only to be wasted upon using multiple security stuff that is being redundant in the process. There are reasons why some processes are not easily killed by task manager/like 3rd party apps, one is for self-defense which is evidently can be seen on security applications and the other is for stability reason.

By the way WinPatrol has start-up options, which is very useful for controlling certain apps and delaying/disabling the unnecessary. Remember, the less apps you install, the more happier your box is

Since you have so many security software, the simplest way to find out which security software is causing the delay:

Disable one security software and try terminating a process.
Continue doing this until you find the culprit.
