Best OS?

As a newbie I was wondering how Ubuntu compares against Windows 7. I have a copy of Windows now and it's major flawed, what's Ubuntu like and how could I set up a dual bootup?

you cannot compare Ubuntu with Windows 7 since they are two different O.S with a different architecture and a different way of working.

Please avoid to ask "which is better" or "which is the best or light O.S, antivirus, software etc etc etc etc"

This kind of topics bring to nothing, always reproduce the same arguments and may lead to flames.
While if you have question on Ubuntu or other *Nix based O.S we have a Linux forum section where you can ask for.

Since you're a newbie, I think you would be better off with Windows 7 for now.
When you are used to Windows, probably you can then learn about Linux.
