    Problemas con OpenThinClient

    Hello !!

I'm doing my practicum in a german company. My boss would like to make a small LAN with two old PC's.
I read by Internet that OpenThinClient is a nice option but I have a lot of problems with that because I don't know a lot from Networks.

    - I have 2 old PC's with Windows XP Professional SP3 (The Server is a few powerfuler than the Client).
    - The Server has 2 network cards because they share the Internet.
    - A switch.

After to share the Internet between the PC's (I needed to install DHCP Server 2.1 and Proxi-Nat in the Server), I try to configure OpenThinClient Manager.
Here, www.openthinclient.org say that the Manager is able to detect the Client's IP and that its appear in "PXE Clients".

I don´t know what I'm doing wrong so I have these questions:

    1. Can I that do?
    2. Need I to install other aditional software? or Have I to change the configuration of the system?
    3. What I need to boot correctly from the Network?

    Thank you very much !!

I've never tried OpenThinClient but since you're just networking 2 old PCs, why don't just enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)? ICS automatically turns on DHCP and also NAT for internet sharing.

I agree with Raymond. ICS is simple and easy to maintain so you can go for it. This documentation of http://openthinclient.org/documentation can help you read it carefully. ICS would be the better alternative and easy one for you because server already has 2 network card so connect one lan card with internet and another with the switch and connect other pc's with switch.
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

Yesterday I took another old PC from my home because I can't have the DHCP Server and the OpenThinClient Server together in the same PC.
    My configuration is the following:
    - The 1st. PC has 2 network cards and it has direct connection to the Internet (it's my DHCP Server).
    - Its second network card is connected to a switch.
    - I have connected in the switch the 2nd. and the 3rd. PCs. (The 2nd. will be my OpenThinClient Server and the 3rd. will be my Client).
    - With these configuration all PCs have Internet.

    Internet
    |
    |
    |PC 1|
    |
    |
    Switch ----- |PC 2|
    |
    |
    |PC 3|

The problem comes when I have installed the OpenThinClient Software and I configure the Manager.
I need that the Client (3) was able to boot by the Network.
I have configured the BIOS to boot from the Network.
On the other side, the OpenThinClient's documentation says that the server (2) is able to detect all the PXE Clients but it no detects them.
    Here is my problem.
    - Have I to do any more to have a PXE Client ? (the BIOS is configured).
    - Do I need another extra software to make that ?

    Thank you so much !!

Just make sure your mobo lan card is PXE card otherwise you need PXE Lan card.
