this PC belongs to a frnd of mine. problem is: he got windows 7. but this display drivers not supporting AERO. i googled & found out that VIA never released drivers above XP for this particular piece of hardware.

I tried to download drivers from this link of softpedia which claims it works on Win Vista. (so should on Win7) .But no luck.

Q1) Is it true this VIA chipset have no drivers for Vista/7?

after bit more search i came across this post:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/fi-FI/w7itprohardware/thread/1d98f375-88e2-4b75-a46f-1a2e2925d9f6
Q2) can this trick work with win7 32 bit? if yes, any hints? or i should use as it is?

    Logik

PS: Q3) he have LG CRT monitor with max resolution: 1024x728. do aero works on these monitors?

    Hey Logik,

Q1) Is it true this VIA chipset have no drivers for Vista/7?
Yes, there are no drivers available which support the later OS's.

Q2) can this trick work with win7 32 bit? if yes, any hints? or i should use as it is?
No. If you read a little further on you will see that in the next post the OP says that it didn't work and he had to go back to using VGA.

PS: Q3) he have LG CRT monitor with max resolution: 1024x728. do aero works on these monitors?
Don't see why it wouldn't. Requirements for Aero are more about memory and graphics capabilities of the computer than the monitor.

Best solution would be to install a dedicated graphic card. Considering the age of the mobo it will probably include a slot for AGP cards.

    Cheers......Jim
