I tried to played mkv files in media player classic, it worked fine but there is no audio.
So I switched to vlc. Now there is audio but the video couldn't play smoothly, it kept loop back to the beginning of the video.
Any solutions to this problem?

what is ur system specs, and wht is the quality of mkv file u trying to play/?
window 7 64 bit, the video is in 1080p blu-ray format
System Specs include CPU, RAM, Video Card, etc, as well. If those aren't very good, don't expect a rip that high to run at all.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db
Pentium (R) dual-core 2.20GHz, 2.00GB RAM, Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset
I'm sorry because I don't know much about hardwares. Is it sufficient? If not, what can I do?
Then may i know what is the minimum requirements to play 1080p video? So that i can find myself another new computer.
Thank you.
Minimum Requirements:
Processor: 2.4Ghz (dual core) or 3.5Ghz (single Core) processor.
Graphics: Nvidia/ATi having bare minimum 256MB Video RAM and core clock 600Mhz.
Do you watch it on a laptop screen?
Yes, so it is not about the software but my hardware to be blame?
Maybe you could try a 720p video? You won't notice much difference on a laptop screen anyway and it'll be easier on your system.
Does the 1080p video on MPC:HC play smoothly even though there's no sound? Do the files have multiple audio tracks?
EDIT: Just tried a 1080p Mkv on my 6 yr old single core 1.8/1gig/128mb X600 GFX laptop using MPC and playback was perfect so I would say the min specs listed above are inaccurate and you should look at other things first before worrying about new hardware.
