I know there are a number of software programs for monitoring hardware temperatures, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend one of them, based on their experience with using it.
Thanks, Bear![]()

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!
Im using SpeedFan, it show's your pc temperatures in the tray, and you can tweak/control the speed of the fans in your pc if you want.
I have set it to autostart and to show the cpu temp in the tray...
There are a lot of similar software's.. hwmonitor, OpenHardwareMonitor, aida(former everest)...
Thanks for your input pirej. I will look into Speed Fan.
SpeedFan is the first thing that comes to my mind concerning temperature.
Another vote for SpeedFan. Thanks for your input Raymond.
My first choice for Intel would be [url=http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/]Real Temp, second would be [url=http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/]Core Temp. I use a [url=http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/addons.html]Core Temp Gadget on my desktop 24/7. It shows temps and the current clock speed (I have speed step enabled, so clock changes depending on load).
I use [url=http://majorgeeks.com/Prime95_d4363.html]Prime95 for stress testing CPU. [url=http://majorgeeks.com/OCCT_d5612.html]OCCT Beta for CPU, GPU, and PSU. And [url=http://www.memtest.org/]Memtest86+ for Ram testing.
OCCT has great features, such as saving as images graphs of various operating voltages (3.3v, 5v, 12v), and more.

@ A Guy Thanks as always for your input! I want to check these options out, before I get the new PC up and running, so I am familiar with using them. Its funny how spending that much money on a new build makes a person more conscious of protecting that investment!
@ FunkY Thanks for your input also! With all the recommendations for SpeedFan, I will definitely be checking it out, along with GPU-Z.![]()
I use Core Temp & MSI Control Center to monitor my Cpu temp and GPU meter to check my GPU temp.
Speccy for HDD and CPU .
