Kies for Samsung Galaxy S doesn't work

Well I just upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S to Gingerbread and what do you know, Kies no longer recognizes my phone. I have been scouring the internet for hours & hours trying all sorts of possible solutions but nothing seems to work. I am running Windows 7 x64. If anyone has any ideas please post them, I'm getting desperate.

O.k. I have found a solution. I hope this helps someone else.
After installing the latest Kies software I downloaded the SAMSUNG USB Drivers for Mobile Phones (x86 & x64) via a thread on XDA developers (I can't post the link so just search on XDA developers website for - [Driver] [20.07.2011] SAMSUNG USB Drivers for Mobile Phones +LATEST UPDATED VERSION+ )
I plugged in my phone via USB and went to device manager & uninstalled/deleted my phone from portable devices and USB devices.
Then I went to program files\SAMSUNG\USB Drivers and uninstalled the drivers and then deleted the Samsung folder.
Then I installed the drivers that I had downloaded previously I unplugged my phone and rebooted my PC. Then plugged my phone in again. After the drivers successfully installed I ran Kies, and viola my phone is finally recognized.

Hey Magoo, good to see you got it fixed. Just wanted to link you to a good forum for the androids in case you don't use. Go to HERE and this is the XDA - Developers site. They have basically every android based phone there and (i think) windows 7 phones too. I use the site for all my phones. anything and everything you need to know about your phone can be found there. If they haven't had that issue before, you can ask them in the Q&A section and i will bet someone will answer it for you quickly. Hope it helps.
