Please recommend free portable text and hex editors
Hi,
I need to update my very old editors that I used on Windows XP.
What is a good portable hex editor? Should I get different 32bit and 64bit or 32bit is OK for 64bit system?
Also, text editor for programmers. Should have Regular Expression (RegEx), Unicode, 32bit 64bit, etc
Thanks,
J.

Just had a google. [url=http://notepad-plus-plus.org/]Notepad++ is free and portable. Apparently the [url=http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Plugin_Central]PythonScript plugin has multiline regex support. Have a look at HxD HERE. - portable available in a variety of languages on the download page.
It is often better to keep one's mouth shut and appear to be a fool than to open it and remove all doubt!

There are a lot of Hex Editors, both free and shareware. You will have to test them to see which you prefer to work with.
As for Text Editor, Notepad++ is my favorite and can run as portable.
