internet speed increase

hi everybody,

i am using bsnl Rs.250.00 plan of upto 2mbps speed.
what is the best software to increase broadband speed?
i have already done winXp tweeks in gpedit.msc.

my another question is,

i am using Silan SC92031 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter which shows 100mbps speed.

is there any way to increase that speed also?

please help me.

There are tools that quote that they speed up your browsing speed, but in reality, they don't work I find.

Hi bala2 first of all check your SNR Ratio and Attenuation Rates. You can check it from admin login page. If your SNR value stands between 30 - 45 then your line is good. Lower Attenuation rate is better. First check these 2 after that you do some tweak or else. If you've high Att value and low Snr value then it will be waste of time for you.

My dear friend, as you are using Rs. 250 plan so let me know you one thing people have confusion about the limited/unlimited data available in this plan. So please make sure that. Because i have seen people getting bills of 5k-10k using this plan.

Yes MS. is right . I think that plan is for 1 GB, make sure first . Btw just check your connection speed at www.speedtest.net if you see it's around 1.8 - 1.9 Mbps then you should be happy . Because in India the share ration of a bsnl line is 50 : 1 (once I had a chat with a engineer he told me now the ration is 25 : 1 ). So never expect better than the above rate. from reading the replies the ISP's offer very little and have hidden charges, the Government can't be much better as the net is not just for downloading and is an educational tool that benifits both parties, i can't complain as we have a really good service but we pay the highest in Europe for mobile phone usage...

i havn't found any gains from optimizers nor should i as there are no restrictions as such..
