    Happy

My first guess goes to Extensions. Try to disable extensions what you use one by one and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, have you try to uninstall Chrome and make a new clean install?

Happens the same with me, not always, but occurs frequently. Do you have any programs that speed up shutdown ? If yes, it may be due force shutdown of Chrome. Also when you shutdown, wait all background programs to close.

Another option is to disallow apps to run in background. But it won't be an issue. Just use Sync function in Chrome to make sure that even a corrupted Chrome won't result in data loss.

you could do an install and re-install, one thing i noted, is Chrome actually does a clean uninstall better than many of the others available....

FunkY makes sense with his post as install and un-install is also quick, i just don't like the size of chrome..
