is there any way to get google toolbar to work in firefox8
is there any way to get google toolbar to work in firefox8
Me too tried some time back. But it seems unavailable for Ff 5 onwards. But I use Google Translate add on with FF as that is the only requirement for me. I am sure can find add ons for other features too.
Welcome to Raymond Forum slaterock69. I think it will still work if you use the [url=https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/]Add-on Compatibility Reporter addon. You might also try [url=https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/googlebar-lite/]Googlebar Lite. I don't believe editing the Install.RDF file and the Toolbar.JS file method works any more.

i use firefox but change the homepage to google
Once you've got past my charm, good looks, intelligence and my sense of humour,
I think it's my modesty that stands out.
The Add-On Compatibility Reporting addon suggested by A Guy will work.
Just install that and then install/enable Google Toolbar.
It says it is just reporting add on. So it can make add ons for old versions work ?
Googlebar Lite
; )
Roger and out
It enables all add-ons that are not compatible with the version of Firefox being used. It overrides the extension compatibility checks and enables all add-ons regardless whether they are working or not. All add-ons are automatically activated. You can go further and actually report non working addons, but that won't help in this case. A Guy
Thanks, will try and update.![]()
I like Ted's idea also, for having the google home page, although im not a fan of google and use it like the tool it is...i have added a couple of addons to Fire Fox but try to keep it as lite as is possible..
