Silverlight will not work with IE9

Ever since I upgraded from IE8 to IE9 Silverlight will not work. I have uninstalled, cleaned out all the associated registry keys and reinstalled many times. Still when I open a webpage that requires the use of Silverlight I am asked to install Silverlight.

Silverlight shows in IE9 as enabled.

Research shows that many people all over the world that have upgraded are unable to get any of their add-ons to work, no matter what they do from other suggestions.

When I use my Windows 7 Home Premium, "troubleshooter" for Silverlight, says "not compatible".

Microsoft needs to get their act together with IE9, as the offers far more security then IE8, but has far more problems when it comes to add-ons. (I even have purchased software like "SmartWhois", that has to be an add-on, and is enable but will not work). Works only when I drag the icon the system tray and then I have to cop and paste a URL, into the software to obtain the information that I desire on a perticuar webpage.

Please as any body had a fix with Silverlight, because I have tried every thing possible with negative results.

    Thanks,
    MindDoctor

Please use the Microsoft Fix It tool to clean a corrupted Silverlight installation and then reinstall Silverlight.

    Direct download link: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9781197

If succeed, download the latest Silverlight.

    Dear Raymond:

Sincerely appreciate all of your time and support. I have tried Microsoft fix It tool, and every troubleshooter tools that come with Windows 7 Home Premium. No problems are found related to Silverlight. I have used Revo Uninstaller, to make sure that every registry key was removed, plus a manual check with regedit, and all keys were removed before installing the newest version of Silverlight. Even when I fixed MP3 music download, I receive "server execution failed". I fixed the problem, but not know the cause, and lasted one day, and back to the same problem. As for Silverlight, shows "enabled", in IE9 and still will work work. All other add/ons that are enabled work, like Adobe Flash, not Silverlight. Not even Microsoft support has an answer for these problems.

They send me emails with to try the very same things I have tried over and over.

To be quite honest I think the problem is built in IE9. Plus Microsoft has already said they are going to put IE9 in their critical updates to force people to install. (Going back to IE8 is not an option as I tired and damn near crashed my PC.

    Have a really great week.

That is interesting, because I had IE9 installed for a while, but didn't like it, so I went back to IE8, and thankfully had no problems what so ever. I have Windows Updates set up so I can review them, before they are installed and have had to "uncheck" and "hide" IE 9 a couple of times so it wouldn't download and install.

MindDoctor sent me a private message saying that Windows Repair (All In One) by Tweaking.com solved this problem.

I received a personal email from Shane, the programmer of "tweaking tools". His sole joy in life is helping people repair their computers, and many other technology toys for no financial personal compensation.

Before he dies, he wants to look back on his life and know that he helped other people for free.

Shane, has another site that you may find of interest, because you are a certified Microsoft computer technician. (I found these tools, to be far more intelligent then the Microsoft Support Engineers, that did not have a clue how to resolve my two problems). Plus the tweaking tool is much smarter then the built in troubleshooter in Windows 7.

Deal with routers, and many other technologies.
