    Playing mts files

My old Mini Dv camcorder bit the dust so I bought a Sony HDR-CX110. I was just trying it out and after downloading my video Ive discovered I cannot play the mts files it captured in. I have Power DVD 9.5 and the KMPlayer. Do I need a special codec or something?

Sorry all, I figured it out.

KMPlayer will play mts files without external help, but I believe you may have to change the MPEG2-TS splitter to the Gabest splitter in prefs to get it working.

VLC player, MPC Home Cinema, JetAudio and others will also play the files without the need for extra codecs.

Installing the K-Lite codec pack will help things like WMP recognise the mts as well.

--did not have to do that when i started to use KMPlayer v3.1, it was so when i had ver3.0. additionally Daum Pot Player can also play mts file. most of the time i get by with KMPlayer and VLC portable. am planning to remove PowerDVD10 soon.

    have a nice day guys
