I have been using Utorrent for an year now, I myself recommend it over any other torrent downloading program.

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ΜTorrent]Wikipedia has some facts of it, and the answer to your question, much better explained than I could explain it to you. (:

I have been using µTorrent for quite some time, but it wasn't always like that. I've tried numerous clients before I settled down with µTorrent. I used clients like BitComet or BitLord even, but figured that many people started blocking me 'cause they didn't like what I was using. I've read that users support µTorrent in many different ways 'cause it's safe, fast and the trackers will be grateful to you for using it. It's also very easy to tweak to suit your needs and enables encryption for more protection 'cause some ISPs block µTorrents communication in order to limit its download speed. All in all, it's highly recommended to install this torrent client. :]

µTorrent 1.7 stable is finally here, after months of development. :D

The biggest changes were full Vista support and the removal of the 65,536 piece limit for torrents.
Also added was support for finding local peers (peers on the same LAN) and optionally not having any upload restrictions for them.
It is also possible to turn on automatic updating for betas now, found in the "Other" section of the preferences.
