oh.. that's weird... my friend told me that his AVG can only update for 1 year. :)

I have been running AVG free for the last 4 years on my system and it automatically updates over the internet when ever an update is applicable. This could be every day. Maybe your friend has installed one of the AVG security suites which are not free.

AVG 8 is really Impressive ...It has a new nice GUI and solid new features ...

Hope AVG Technologies will offer a AVG 8 free version ??
