I use FlashGet 1.9.6. In older version there was a reg patch which increase ''threads from main site' upto 30 or so. But that patch won't work with the new versions. So is there any way to increase it in the version 1.9.6??

Unless you have a super fast connection and the server that you're downloading has speed limits, then you don't really need to increase up to 30 threads.

I need to... For getting max speed from rapidshare premium, I usually start 4 downloads at once with 10 threads each. When I had only one RS link to download its very difficult to get max speed....

Okay and what is the speed per thread when you download from RapidShare? They have many servers, have you tested one by one and use the server that downloads the fastest?

Per thread I never get more than 1mbps from any of the RS server. Actually its the problm with my ISP...

But isn't there anyway to increase Number of threads in FlashGet 1.9.6? No one is telling anyway !!! :(

I guess you are using BSNL like me. It's upto 2Mbps. I get an average speed of 1.6-1.7 Mbps
BSNL is cheap but service is the worst. Sometimes their DNS server gets stuck. So I use OpenDNS.
Normally, we measure download speeds in KB/s and not Kbps.
So far my download speed has never crossed 206 KB/s eventhough as per the bsnl ad, theoretically 256 KB/s must be the download speed.

yea... me too BSNL and I m using OpenDNS too... but from a single RS link I rarely get 200KB. Thats why I need the hack in FlashGet to increase the thread.

No I'm not talking about RS dwnld speed.
I read that RS put a cap on download speed for free users around 55 KB/s. But that's not true. I get speeds upto 145 KB/s (not always though). And sometimes "Deutsche Telekom" server is fast.
And I don't think increasing threads would increase RS download speed by a big margin.
