    cpu-z.exe virus?

Half an hour ago I executed a new program CPU-Z,exe (from CPUID) to check my processor. That being done, I was flagged bij my firewall (Online Armor) that the program wanted to run on start-up, which I blocked. It prompted me to uninstall the program, but guess what, it nowhere shows up in my PC. Not in the Control Panel (add/remove), nor in the list of All Programs, nor is ther any icon. This is definitely not the way in which a program should behave, so I want to get rid of it? But how? Suggestions welcome!

cpu-z is portable. so it does not come in add/remove. online armour must have thought cpu-z to harmfull becauce it tries to get system information.

any way from where did u download cpu-z. is it a trusted source.

Looks clean. No detections in Virustotal. And certainly does not do anything harmful. The startup should be a one-off thing to fully determine/analyse your PC config.

As shan said, if you get it from the official website, then it should be safe.

Thanks for your responses!! You are probably right (fortunately). I had not realized that CPU-Z does not install anything. What put me astray was the firewall alarm that CPU-Z wanted to run at startup. The message still puzzles me, but as matters stand there does not seem to be much reason for concern: I scanned the PC in safe mode and nothing was found, apart from the usual vulnerabilities.
