Rising Antivirus 2009
Just downloaded the new Rising AV 2009 free edition (Was previously using Rising 2008 free edition) and at first was a bit disappointed but once getting used to the newer upgrade I was very impressed.I also was using the free Firewall 2008 and it has upgraded also (You can find it at Wilders Security Forums under Rising free firewall page 7 or 8).There is also a Rising Internet Security Suite free edition which I have downloaded and am testing it now (which you can find in the same thread at Wilders about the firewall).Works great!Best free protection I have ever come across.Cheers Snaky

I've tested RISING 2009 last week but didn't want to post about it because I hate to disappoint the users. It seems to have more protection but it wasn't able to maintain the effectiveness in their proactive detection even after setting it to the highest. Memory usage has also been doubled.
I've contacted the developers, engineers and R&D department of Rising and still waiting for their reply.

memory doubled
it looks more like kaspersky to me

I'm still fine with doubled memory usage because it's around 30MB.
But what I can't accept is the fact that it couldn't even detect injection on trusted application which is mostly used by trojans for firewall bypass.

i think mr kaspersky detects that. because almost half of the time it keeps saying a higly resticted program is trying to acces a protected/system files.
if the memory is 30mb its fine with me. ive survied mcafees 100+.
