    Removing a virus...

Guys, as you know that the software Sandboxie allows you to run any file in an isolated environment. Using this fact, if you know the source file of a virus but don't know its mechanism, you can run it Sandboxed and then revert the changes. Check out this post of mine : http://vrushank.livejournal.com/5737.html

However, I am running a 64bit system, and Sandboxie will NOT!! support any version of Windows that is running 64bit. It started when M$ introduced a 64b version of Vista. Security was tight. Sandboxie does things Vista's security would not allow. It still worked on XP versions running 64b, but M$ 'upgraded' their security fixes, and included the Vista fixes into XP. Despite the 'upgrade' to XP OS's, you can still run it on XP if you DELETE this upgrade file: remove Windows Update KB932596.

You have the safest Windows OS running 64bit.

I'm also planning to go for x64 by next year due to my resource intensive applications upgrading to more powerful system.

Yeah sandboxie is good as far as I know only 5 malwares able to bypassed it and the next beta update will fix it. Unless another specialized threat is made.

64bit is the safest v of Windows, but there are TOO many things that will not work with it today. Too many softwares will not (try Kaspershy for example). I need two pieces of hardware that do not provide drivers for 64bit. Do I have to build a 32bit system to do what I need to do on a computer, just to do what I need to do? 64bits is the (near) future...128 is just around the corner! Do I really have to build an antiquated system just to do what I need to do TODAY?

I agree with you on this point 64bit is the future.

The sad fact is that majority still uses 32bit system but though the transition is quite slow for a moment time will come that 64bit would overshadowed the 32bit boxes.

Need more patience to wait for that "support" but I
m going need that too someday
