You can also try any one of these:
Method 1:
1. Click Start

3. Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
4. In the Group Policy settings window
5. Select User Configuration
6. Select Administrative Templates
7. Select System
8. Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
9. Select Remove Task Manager
10. Double-click the Remove Task Manager option
Reboot your machine.
Method 2:
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type REGEDIT
4. Click OK The Registry Editor will now open
5. Browse to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\system
6. In the right pane, look for the value: DisableTaskMgr
7. Right click DisableTaskMgr and select Delete.
(When prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete this value", select Yes)
8. Now browse to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\policies\system
9. In the right pane, look for the value: DisableTaskMgr
10. Right click DisableTaskMgr and select Delete.
(When prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete this value", select Yes)
11. Close the Registry by choosing File | Exit
12. You should now be able to access Task Manager. If not, reboot into Safe Mode and repeat the steps outlined above.
Reboot your machine.
Method 3:
Download xp_taskmgrenab.zip from here:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_taskmgrenab.htm
Open the ZIP file and extract or run the EXE inside. Don't worry, the site is safe. Check WOT rating here:

Run malwarebytes or spybot if you want it done automatically. Or if you suspect there's still a virus run those.

I am not offending you but taskmanager will not be enabled automatically by running malwarebyte even if there is no virus in your system. It disables because its registry is being modified by virus. You have to use one of the above methods or re enable.exe made by tangomouse.

Tangomouse's program will enable it. And if you dont want a software to do that you can use the method suggested by safeguy. Both are effective.

Thanks a lot to all of you for your help.

May as well have my 2penneys worth.
Click Start, then click Run, type in regedit, and click on OK.
Expand these registry keys in turn:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Policies
System
By now there should be a window open and in it should be something like this,
|ab| (Default) REG-SZ (value not set)
** Disable TaskMgr REG-DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
***********************************************************
Right Click on the DisableTaskMgr item:
Click on Delete, confirm that you want to delete, and Task Manager should be available once again.
