Help: System usage by security suites

I tried googling this query and found no concrete answer. I guess this is a Time-Memory trade off situation.

I have a pc with 1 gb ram and a Pentium D 2.8 Ghz chipset, and i use a lot of system intensive apps and games.I`m a big kaspersky fan, but i have a doubt if its using up a lot of ram and cpu time, coz sometimes my system gets slow, i dont run any app`s that i dont need to, and nothig starts up automatically.

The detection rate of KIS 2009 is very very good, but i recently swithched to Avira, since experimenting with security sutes isnt wise, I thought of posting it here.
But could anybody help me find how much of system resources each of the major 5 Internet security suites uses.

    http://internet-security-suite-revie...enreviews.com/

    Bit Defender 2009
    KIS 2009 & 2010
    Avira 9

And i heard KIS 2010 "trial" doesnt provide disinfection options.IS it true?

I found the following report and many others too, But i have no idea about its credibility.
    http://cascadialabs.com/reports/Cascadia_Labs_Kaspersky_KIS_2010.pdf

    Could someone help me out????
I need the exact Memory usage "idle" & "scanning"

That is not true for Kaspersky. The trial is exactly like the original except that it constant nag you to buy the license.
Thoughts are like a never ending ocean where it is deep, endless and dangerous

I've heard Bitdefender 2009 is HEAVY, but Avira and KAV are lighter with good scan and catching capabilites.
pacman -Syyu life not found in sync db

I havent got any such problems when i use Kaspersky...
But i feel that Avira could be more lighter in system usage than KIS...

Having the right system specs will do solve your problem and by meeting the right system requirements is the other.

And i heard KIS 2010 "trial" doesnt provide disinfection options.IS it true?
Disifection options means ( repair, delete or quarantine.) & KIS 30-day trial is a full working version & Cascadialabs ( performance audit ) was sponsored by Kaspersky.

Yah I do agree I stop using KIS and opt for KAV due to the said system slowdown and browser lags.
Avira will do just supplement it with HIPS/Behavioral Protection because it lacks Proactive protection layer

Avira is well known for its lightness. So I think you should use Avira 9.

Do not listen to Top Ten Reviews. It is just a marketing scheme. Avira AntiVir is wonderful and so is KAV. I personally like Avira, but KAV is pretty good too.

    1) Avira
    2) KAV 2009 & 2010
    3)Norton 2009 & 2010
    4)BD 2010
    5)Dr Web 5.0
    My vote goes for

    1)Norton
    2)Avira and
    3)KAV

BD 2010 AV better than 2009 .. but was unable to use internet after installing..

Check this out. A little outdated though but it gives you some idea.
