    Kaspersky Rescue Disk

I am planning to make a Kaspersky Rescue Disk.

    I have two question.
    1. Raymond said that if use Kaspersky to download, is for your own computer only. You cannot use on other computer. Is that true?
I wish to burn one for myself and some for my friends as they requested it.

So which would be the better choice?

Any other link to the rescue disk as the one given by Raymond is not working.

    2. Once burned into CD, can I update the CD with new virus database?
Thoughts are like a never ending ocean where it is deep, endless and dangerous

Kaspersky Rescue Disk offers a safe way to remove viruses from a computer without the risk of getting infected. Boot from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk to scan and remove threats from an infected computer without the risk of infecting other files or computers. All you need to do is the download the ISO file, burn the ISO image to a CD, insert it into the infected system’s CD-ROM drive, enter the PC’s BIOS, set it to boot from the CD and reboot the computer.
    Downloadable Kaspersky Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 or Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 allows you to create your own Recue Disk. Open KAV or KIS, click SCAN, choose Create Rescue Disk. Just follow the instruction and you will have your own made Rescue Disk. However, the rescue disk that you create from Kaspersky is different from the one that you download from Kaspersky website. The one that you create from Kaspersky software is designed to restore system functionality after a virus attack that damaged system files of the operating system and made it impossible to startup and to be used only on the computer that it was created on. Using the disk on other computers could lead to unforeseeable consequences, since it contains information about the parameters of a specific computer.
Kaspersky 2010 and Kaspersky Internet 2010 ( native rescue disk feature )

    see the difference?

    Yeah I see it.

How am I going to update my CD's database once is burned? By using a rewritable CD? Or just boot up and coonnect to the internet then download?

First of all Lunar Wolf, don't you have a 64bit machine? If so, K-rescue disc will not work on it. As far as 'updating' goes, it would probably be easiest to download a fresh copy every time they update, which is not that often on the rescue disk.

So you are going to use Kaspersky AV/IS native rescue disk feature.

Did you have already read this ?
Using the disk on other computers could lead to unforeseeable consequences, since it contains information about the parameters of a specific computer - raymond .

    Now to answer your question?

Honestly,I don't know,I never use that feature yet on other PC.

But if you're going to use the other downloadable Kaspersky Rescue Disk it will do run on most Windows Pc,for sure without any issue.

I was planning to download it from softpedia and update it like how the picture show.

    Yeah I read it already.
So I am not sure I want to get my disk from where.

I want a bootable disc on any computer and able to update the database before burning it.

The other rescue disk is it the same as softpedia one or different?

Yes and just download the latest KRD dev't update.

How am I going to update my CD's database once is burned? By using a rewritable CD? Or just boot up and coonnect to the internet then download?
For every new devt. update you need to download and burn it again.
Cons: KRD doesn't support auto update-definition.

    The two does :
    F-Secure Rescue Disk
    Bitdefender Rescue Disk

    1. If I download the definition, how am I going to burn together with the ISO file?

    2. Where is the link for the database for the ISO file as I don't see the link on the Kaspersky website?

All infos needed are already given on my first post and the guide on making a rescue disk was already written detail by detail on Raymond article or via Kaspersky client feature.
