plz solve
my cd drive tray opens and closes automatically.As soon as i start my computer this starts and occurs every 5-10 secs.i have scanned my comp with avira spybot norton superantispyware but nothing happens. its occuring for the past 2 days and frequency of opening and closing has increased.
plz suggest me something to solve this problem?

Check using Task Manager if there's wscript.exe running. If yes, stop the process. then, go and check if wscript.exe is on your startup list...you can use MSCONFIG for that. If there is, remove it.

Does this happen when you are in BIOS?
Try going to your bios by pressing the Del key (somtimes it can be F2 or F8 or even F10) and let your computer idle there.

yes d problem occurs in bios too. nd there is no wscript.exe running in tsk mgr.
recently(abt 1 week back) i have installed a new graphics card 7600gs agp ,which requires additional power supply.could that be the problem?

If the problem occurs in bios, then it's not a windows problem.
Probably it's the drive or cable.

It's completely a hardware problem if there are no wscript.exe running. It might be that your drive or CPU is having an internal loose connection of some kind. I once had a similar problem when a house lizard somehow managed to gain entry into my CPU
