*Format your pendrive if its the best possible solution.

If KIS able to kill the nasty. It will run a special removal procedure that will locked-up your box for a moment and disinfect any nasty processes left inside your system and then a sweet reboot. But there are some cases that it won't be successful so a hard reboot is necessary and you'll need to run another scanner/rescue disk to that job again.

I agree with ceyfer. but you can backup any file you need as i am sure that the autorun worm will not be able to slip into your computer if you have disabled the autorun before this.or, you can edit the autorun.inf in your pendrive using notepad. just delete all the instruction relevant to the worm and save it.of course, ceyfer way would be the best and easiest.

    @mkhalifa07,

why don't you wait a while and see whether Kaspersky delete those threats or not.

I experience the same thing when I scan an infected pendrive and I waited a while and then Kaspersky clean the file.

In fact, I always clean infected pendrive. My friends always ask me to do it for them. I will delete the file, then kaspersky will show green notofication stating "xxx have been deleted" but then scan hangs at 99%. Only after a while, it will complete the scan.

To make sure that the pendrive is clean, rescan it.

If you want fast, open Kaspersky, "press fix it now" You will have to wait a while for Kaspersky to prompt you. Then wait a while for it to clean. It all takes a while.

I also disable my autorun via Panda USB vaccine.

Yes it will. But seeing you have KIS 2010, the moment you open a folder/pendrive containing "threats" it will automatic neutralise them for you. So your computer is not infected. I assume you set it to make its own decision.

If you didn't set it to make its own decision, it will prompt you with the necessary actions.

Either way, KIS 2010 will stop the treats before they infect your computer.

What I know is KIS 2009 does the job wonderfully (remove threats from pendrive).

Ya USB Vaccine serves as a good precautionary measure.
If nothing else works, open command prompt and type 'del C:\Windows'

@mkhalifa07: yes, just open it from 'my computer' and copy whatever file you need to a folder. you won't get infected as long as you already disabled the autorun using KIS (I tried this way for my autorun worms-infected pendrive several times and nothing goes wrong so far.). If you want safer approach, just open your pendrive under sandboxie. Copy those files you need from there after that using the recovery function. you will be safe.

@LunarWolf: mkhalifa07 problem is very common for me though KIS did function rightly for me most of the time. perhaps I should be more patient.

Same here. Once it took more than 10 minutes to clean a pendrive. All the prompts have come out and then it was stuck at 99%. I stop the scan. Unplug and plug it back. Scan, voila, no more viruses. It took so long because there were 3 viruses in it which infected 22 files!

That is because KIS 2010 protection is on. Try turning off the protection and see you get infected or not.

I once accidenatally open my father's pendrive which was infeected during KIS 2009 time, KIS neutralise the viruses straight away.

@mkhalifa07, PLEASE DON'T TRY THE WORDS IN BLUE.

Yeah. That is one thing KIS 2010 saferun can't beat. The ability to open a infected pendrive in saferun unlike sandboxie.

or as an option, explore the folder( right click option) rather than double clicking. That does not autorun the files.
