    Interesting PCMAG article on AVīs

Avast! and Panda scoring well, Avira unfortunately not included.

I think for 32-bit systems, there is no reason to pick Avast! 5 over Panda Cloud, being quite heavier on system resources.
On 64-bit systems, youīre better off picking Avast! 5 imo.

Since Avira is not included, I wouldn't bother to read it Alright..I'm just kidding...I'm actually thinking of trying out Avast on a VM...I'll see how things go before I make my mind whether to switch or not...Avast does seem 'tempting' to me...especially since it is now more lightweight than Avira (according to Ray's test)...as for Panda Cloud - nay I'm not yet sold on the idea of using a cloud AV...for now..

I am interested to the Mcafee antivirus plus mentioned in the article. After the introduction of new interface, everything looks better now.My friend installed the latest one and yes, there is improvement on the speed...but if they can make their update more frequently, at least like ESET, it would be better.

The author als reviewed "Avanquest's Double Anti-Spy Professional" (never heard about this software) which uses anti-malware engines from Sunbelt Software and Agnitum, makers of VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware 3.1 and Outpost Security Suite Pro respectively

VIPRE antivirus & antispyware is really insignificant in detection rate, while OutPost Security Suite uses VBA 32 antivirus engine which in my opinion is not so effective
