Why Should Avira or other AV "must hate" keygens.
False Positives & Keygen threat issues were tackled at Wilders thread and It will answer why Avira are soo agressive against keygen & also sensitive to fp's.
Cracks and keygens so often really contain malware these days, I regulary farm them in order to pickup the latest malware!
The ratio of really infected cracks & keygens is
very high, and I noticed they switched over from trojanizing the keygen/patcher to trojanizing the installer of the program itself.
I agree.
Beside exploits (browser, JavaScript, Flash, PDF) I would say trojans in
cracks/keygens are one of the
major infection vectors these days.

It pretty much depends where the person gets the keygen and cracks from.
The truth is, many people look for cracks and keygens which makes it a very good place to spread their malware.

Most of keygens & cracks are build in with trojan or malicious programs. Immediately after you excute this, your computer will be inflected.
Trust your antivirus software & try not to use any of these cracked softwares.
Avira is supposed to be "FP Heaven",as a matter of fact Avira performs very good detection rate & protection to your computer.

to be honest, AVG was the one which would detect every possible keygen in this world as malware/trojan, etc. It was in v7 hat i used long time back

I heard that even Bitdefender is really harsh with keygens...and acording to mrm52858 post its not even worth it using anymore.
Screw Google! Ask me!

I find Bitdefender heavy on my parent's PC... 3.2 Gig single core, 3 gigs ram, and 128 mb Video card... and it slows the PC as much as 20 seconds per boot.

The most sensitive against Keygen/crack/patch is A-squared/Ikarus and least are Kaspersky and Dr. Web.

I find Panda Cloud isn't so bad... but it does pick up a few more then I'd like. It really depends on where you get them from. A lot of scener teams release open versions of cracks/keygens/tools that someone else adds a virus to and re-releases. There's no substitute for a trusted source, which is your best and safest anti-virus against these things IMO.

I agree that getting the legit *tool from trusted source may do lessen the risk.
