I definitely recommend using WOT but what I would also take into account is that its not always 100% accurate...

Ive had google results before where WOT has been red yet Norton, mcafee or trend (whoever was installed at the time) has shown them as green...

ive had twitter links blocked before and tinyurls... when theyve been redirecting to legitimate sites...

id use a combination of WOT and common sense....

I know I don't rely on it as if a religion, I take it as friendly advice, sometimes even Google about it, or check the comments if it has some. It's one of those things you just have to watch for.

As most of the AV or Internet Security have already had the URL check/Antiphising functions/toolbar build in, when installing a 3rd party URL check probably will slow down your surfing speed. (IE , Firefox, ....all have these functions)
When installing a 3rd party URL check, it's better to shut down some of these to avoid conflicts & slow surfing.

In total agreement with that...WOT isn't 100% reliable and rather easy to manipulate but so far, it has proved to be a useful assist tool...that is if you still have common sense with you and not simply rely on the words/comments made by others without verifying....
