Symantec customers are already protected from these attacks by way of IPS and antivirus signatures. Of course, those who are concerned about false positives will be glad to know that we have gone to great lengths to put in place systems and processes that will ensure that our definition files are of the highest quality with minimal risk of causing these hugely disruptive events.
    ahahahahaahahah sure!
Exactly like latest Norton Eraser beta:-)

@leofelix: Norton choose perfect name for their new product. ERASER... It truly erases everything.
I have never seen such a name for any security products (except rogues).
If you ask a person to guess what is Norton Power Eraser, he will surely say it is a shredder kind of software.

Mcafee is now displaying a huge ad "Information on this week's security update issue" on their website. After seeing Symentec's concern ,they are finally doing things to make the mess right.

Luckily I removed Mcafee from my sister's laptop due to the buggy total protection, thanks leofelix and now it proved that it's correct to stay away from disastrous situation as what happened to many mcafee users now.

The other day I had a problem with Norton Safe. Norton Safe does not work on some sites, but I am a Comcast customer so I get Norton Security Suite free. I went to the Symantec site. Went into the support chat. They took control of my computer with my permission. He tried a bunch of things. He literally tried over an hour. We even tried to install the NSS again. He even said he would install it, but I told him I would do it. That didn't work uninstalling and reinstalling. I just have to live with it. It doesn't remember my information for some sites and this is one of them. But it is only a couple sites.

Mcafee on the other hand. I had loads of problems with them. Bsods all over the place. Their Mcafee 7.0 I was literally ready to rip my hair out and no one ever offered to connect to my computer to find the problem. I knew it was with their antivirus and so did they, but they didn't want to be bothered or let it known the problem was their program with windows 98.
