Cant Shift Virus
I have been trying to rid my mates PC of a virus .Ive slaved it up on mine scanned with Hijack This Avast and Malwarebytes. they found a few things and quarantined them.
But when I put hard drive back in his Pc And booted up something still there .It wont let me access Task Manager and the hosts file has been hijacked . I have edited the host file and saved with '' as told by Hijack This but it still reverts back . I booted up with Linux Puppy and deleted the host file and pasted a copy from my machine but still no joy. Its no big deal I was going to just reinstall Windows But I would love to beat this B*****d if I can First I am Using Win XP Pro and Firefox . Any Ideas ?

Download Hitman Pro and perform a scan.

Activate the trial if infection is found to remove it.
To repair the registry changes made by malwares use Re-Enable.

You may want to try Trojan Remover.
It is a pay for program with a 30 day trial.
It will remove whatever it finds.Corrupt Host File it will change it.
If it asks for payment ignore it and carry on with the scan.

Hi i know this is a bit off your topic but i downloaded a program a few years back from inovative solutions.. i was on their e mail list and updated straight away...i had just put a fresh install with this as the first program ran a few scans and i got a trojan alert ...to cut along story short i contacted Inovative and they said it was a programing error that should have been removed and they fixed it straight away proffessing they don't install anything illegal which i told them i believed them as i liked their products ... it was an accident....as it was the only program at the time i uninstalled and the scan came up clean...
Their help was fantastic and i wasn't pointing fingers just looking for help...
