AnVi Antivirus: Another Rogue Software
Virus writers are a tricky bunch, though their schemes are often glaringly obvious, at least to the tech savvy. The problem is, there are scores of users who don't fall into this category, and according to Symantec, there's a new ploy making the rounds that we have no doubt will be effective. It's called the AnVi Antivirus, and what it does is
instruct victims to uninstall their AV software.

That's about as bad as the spam advising to upgrade their anti-virus by going 'here' where here is an infection site..

Thank you Albo
there are several rogue which once installed asks to uninstall one's own antivirus (some of them directly disable it and other security applications) unfortunately

Thanks Alboguy. That was well worth reading. I haven't come across anything like that myself, but wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, even if I did.

Good read alboguy as long as the warnings are posted on forums and blogs such as Raymonds the more people become aware and less likely to be fooled
