    Search Calculator Virus???

For last few days I am getting a very strange and annoying experience with my home PC. Every time space key is pressed, even when no application is running, Windows Calculator is popped up. Same thing happens is other characters are pressed fast. Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work. I am using Windows XP (SP3) with Kaspersky IS-2010. Virtual key does not create any havoc. It is very clear some code has taken full control of the keyboard driver. I could not find any solution to get rid of the same. Please...

Update your KIS 2010 (better to upgrade to KIS 2011) and run full scan. Also, post GSI log

Is your keyboard has multimedia keys? Try to reinstall keyboard driver.

EDIT: Also, follow the instructions give here and scan your system with TDSSKiller to eliminate possibility of infected keyboard driver.

Check your tasks list to see if a key driver is running. The defaults for some auto-key drivers can be inventive, and if you downloaded/installed one, it could have put itself in the startup process.

Download Hijackthis.run and it and submit the log here.

Download Malwarebytes antimalware and run a full scan and submit its log.

These logs can be useful if your system is infected and experts and trying to help you fix it.

GSI log is a Go and proper maintenance check. We cannot really determine what is it. Either a malware, corrupted OS, corrupted hardware driver or the hardware itself?

    Troubleshooting mode - good luck!

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for the advices. Scanning with TDSSKiller could not find any abnormalities. I am using multimedia keyboard, but using default keyboard driver. That means Calc is not accessible from keyboard. So, it does not seem to be hardware problem. I do not know which service is keyboard drive in task manager. In safe mode of Windows also this behavior (popping calc) is active. I'll send the log files for further investigation.
By the time, the annoying part of popping calc is removed by uninstalling Calc from Windows. Of coarse, Ctrl-Alt-Del still does not work.

Follow the recommendations of kv777 and also run Hitman Pro scan. Waiting for GSI log...
To enable Task Manger, open KIS --> run System Restore wizard and follow the instructions.

Hi tkasha, ... good to know that your keyboard is now sorted out, first time i have seen this problem reported, normally i check event viewer first and drivers are a problem at the best of times, so i check them periodically and back them up when my system is stable..
