Mbam or Counterspy?
I have kaspersky intenet security. I need anti-spyware, so which one I choose? I heard Counterspy has great detection rate, more than Mbam.

KIS already include powerful Anti-Spyware capabilities along with HIPS and Proactive Defense. To complement it, I have preferred MBAM and it is working very well on my configuration (My current security setup). Do not forget to exclude MBAM processes and files in KIS for proper functioning of both softwares.
I have used previous version of Counterspy in VM. Do not know it is compatible with KIS or not. Even it may be compatible, I will not recommend it (duplicate detections and huge resources usage)
BTW, which KIS version you are using.
Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x86 + KIS 2011 (11.0.2.556 b.a.c.d) + Sandboxie Paid (3.54) + Deep Freeze Standard (7.20.020.3398)

I won't comment on the relative detection abilities. But Counterspy has many more features compared to MBAM. But as you are already using KIS you won't need those. So, MBAM with good detection and IP Blocking feature is perfect.

I'm using kis 2010, I don't like buggy 2011 version. Kis proactive defense is not good. If we want to overcome kis proactive failure we must use kis heuristic to deep level. I ran 2 trojans(not intentionally), but kis failde to detect. At that time I decided to try norton detection capability, norton sonar detected those two trojans. But I don't want norton, I like kaspersky.

Scope of MBAM or Counterspy is not very broad like other AVs. So if you want other AV with compatibility, try Panda Cloud, Prevx, Immunet or Blue point Security.

@varunraj: Submitted those Trojans to Kaspersky Lab.
I will recommend upgrading to KIS 2011 CF1 (11.0.0.400 ab). With patch b, numerous problem/bugs have been fixed and it is stable and fast too. Proactive Defense has been improved too. There are numerous updates to each module in 2011. Actually Kaspersky Lab wants to make their product much silent with least problems/false positives. They can design PD much aggressive, but this will annoy invoice computer users. You can complement it with MBAM Pro (Anti-Malware) and/or HIPS like WinPatrol.
EDIT: Do not use Immunet Plus or Blue Point Security along with other AV. They are full AV themselves. You can use Panda Cloud or PrevX with KIS.

Reason: Do not try to run two AV on same system

ok. Please tell me, can I use same update definition(saved automatically to a folder on everi kis 2010 update) to offline update kis 2011? I know it only update virus signature only not application modules, that I'll do later.

@varunraj: Although signature updates are currently same for version 2010 and 2011 (except application modules), you cannot update from KIS 2010 bases folder. You need Kaspersky Updater to download updates for offline updating (plenty of options are available). You can download signature updates as well as modules updates with Kaspersky Updater.

If I tries to update kis 2011 from kis 2010 update folder, Is it safe? I don't want to download base update begin-end again because its already in my kis 2010 update folder.

What about A-Squared Antimalware?
