symantec uninstall help
EDIT: editing to make the question more 'civilized'
my parents recently got my pc formatted and the technician installed this symantec endpoint protection v11. now it asks for password when i try to uninstall. and the password is not symantec. also, ray's post about modifying the registry is obsolete..at least on windows 7. little help here?
EDIT2: got it removed via app remover but now my wireless internet stays stuck at 'limited access'

Based on google search I found that you need to contact Symantec Technical support and they will give you a removal tool or you can contact the technician who formatted your pc to get the password or call him again to uninstall Symantec Endpoint.

before criticizing norton , you should also think that its " endpoint protection " which is for Business use ,,, hence its under control of the Admin of the company .... hence its perfectly valid that u cant uninstall it for security purpose
next time , think more before saying terms like "crapware " :P

i tried task manager but the moment the password window comes it prevents me from clicking anywhere out of that window, so i am unable to click the end task button in the task manager.
i will try the app remover.

Ah ok. First off I doubt that technician bought a corporate version just for you. Second version 11 is old and outdated. Retail versions of it was massively leaked to warez sites. After installation sometime it doesn't even update. All I'm trying to say: It's crap. So either ask that guy for the pass or try AppRemover. Best of luck!!
