    Fake VirusTotal site serves malware

    VirusTotal - the popular free file checking website - has been spoofed by malware peddlers, warns Kaspersky Lab.

    A simple visit to the site triggers the download of a worm via a java applet embedded in the code
    Source removed

    That site is apparently engaged in the distribution of malware.
    Should the owner think MalwarePatrol is in error can get in touch with MalwarePtrol in order to delist his site

    I'll just like to add that there are also those that ends with .tk and .in from what I've seen. It doesn't matter what the ending is...the most important thing is you don't end up on any one of the fake sites unless you have some security measures set up in place.

    Yes agree with you . I just want to say that the original site is virustotal.com and you have mistakenly entered virustotal.xxx now if you carefully use you Heuristic it will help you to recognize .
