Bug US military contractors hacked : possible link with RSA SecurID breach

Hackers have broken into the network of Lockheed Martin and several other US military contractors, according to a media reports.Blogger Robert Cringely claimed that Lockheed Martin first detected the security breach last Sunday. In response the firm promptly blocked all remote VPN access to their internal network, and informed over 100,000 users that they would have to change their passwords.

In addition, it's said that all Lockheed personnel with RSA SecurID tokens will be given new tokens.

From the sound of things, Lockheed Martin took swift and sensible action. It was wise of them to take the step of shutting down access to its internal networks as a precaution, once it believed that unauthorised users may have breached its systems..

H'mmm, the rest of the world will probably get to see the newest innovations in military hardware, before us US taxpayers even see the bill!

You have no idea what RSA SecurID keys are, do you?

Little keyfob with a six digit key that changes every minute.

Should be interesting to see how that gets repaired...

Its much too late for that. The US Gov't is running a 14 trillion dollar deficit and they need to raise the debt limit once again to keep the government running. I read somewhere my gov't spends about $46,000 a second. Do you guys think you could manage to live on that? I am one US citizen that is very tired of the US Gov't playing "big brother" to the world, when we are on the verge of bankruptcy. And I think its fair to say that most of the world resents our being there anyway.

The US military installations has been subjected to attack 24/7 in a continuous basis. We'll never know... the Chinese or the Russkies might soon flying some weird looking stealth copy-cat soon.

Classified information from Lockheed Martin is such a priceless gem for any countries out there. I've seen this type of sophisticated espionage operation before, but this time it's in the cloud.

The Chinese have their own clones of certain planes... it's only a matter of time until the US will have no secrets left.

Good! Then maybe we won't have to waste the money trying to keep secrets.
