Bug CIA website brought down by DDoS attack, LulzSec hackers claim responsibility !!!

Hula hula hula another breaking news . The CIA website at cia.gov is currently inaccessible, having apparently fallen foul of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack by hackers.Almost inevitably, fingers are pointing towards the notorious LulzSec hacktivist group who have made a name for themselves recently with a series of attacks against corporations, organisations and websites - sometimes forcing them offline, and on other occasions stealing personal information by exploiting security flaws.

Fortunately, the likelihood is that the attack against the CIA's website has not resulted in any sensitive information being stolen. But that's not to say that the attack is harmless. The CIA website is a primary method through which the agency communicates with the rest of the world, and it's not going to take kindly to being forced offline by hackers.

After all, it has just poked a very grizzly bear with a pointy stick. LulzSec's cockiness may be its undoing.

Update: The CIA website is sporadically accessible again.

What a beautiful mess it is? I've seen the log. More vigilance guys!

The giant release encompasses a panoply of (very sensitive) sites: Gmail, Facebook, PayPal, WoW accounts—all private places you don't want a stranger rifling through.

Not too worry, the CIA has access to my tax dollars and cost will be no object, until those "rascals" are brought to justice!

What happens when the CIA bite back, i don't care for goverments or their agencies, but unfortunately some secrets are best kept that way... i wouldn't like to think that some one got harmed because of this, some very good points made by Ceyfer

I'm not sure messing with an intelligence agency is a very smart thing to do. The CIA has lots of resources at its disposal and I'm sure they have the capability of tracking these people down no matter where they live.
