PSafe Antivirus

When I was on Youtube, I found nice review for this antivirus PSafe. For me, is this antivirus very new, what I now from review, is Cloud based, is from Brazil and on review had very good detection. Price? FREE! Unfortunately, web page is in portuguese, but not too hard understand basics. What is your opinion above this antivirus?

Downloaded the installer as I am curious and it seems to be available only in portuguese

Thanks idaho! I have never heard of this one before either. Will probably wait for someone else to review however, as I have trouble enough with the English language.

That's the problem with a lot of developers isn't it? Self claimed to be the best, most downloaded, most used, etc etc :P

I tested it out. It's very difficult to understand the interface if you're not Indonesian (Google Translate claims the language to be Indonesian, not Brazillian). But I tried my best.

Environment - VirtualBox 4.0.10-72479 (Guest Additions installed)
Installer size - 343 KB
OS - Windows XP SP3
Base Memory - 192 MB
Acceleration - VT-x/AMD-V, Nested Paging

Takes some time during installation because it has to download the main parts and updates from the server. I planted 30 virus in the virtual system and ran a scan. Detection rate - 0/30. I ran one of the virus files and PSafe didn't show any alert or anything else. Even when I put all 30 files in a folder and ask PSafe to scan the folder, it doesn't detect anything. User interface claims that the antivirus is the best in the world. It'll take some time to reach the GUI since you get pumelled by various ads including a Pizza service.

Conclusion - Wasted my time trying to test this. Had a good laugh though.

That's only pure marketing stuff, well that's standard for any brand regardless. Persuasive and deceptive ads has long proven to brainwash a large number of people, resulting to sudden increase in their sales and later those dissatisfied customer will back-stab them for good.

I am not personally against this newcomer, but why not just make it "Practically Safe" instead of PSafe - Isn't it sweet and humble? It can also be use as a tagline too. LOL
