    MBAM pro question

i would like to switch to DrWeb antivirus and use MBAM pro mainly for its ability to check the web. But would MBAM be enough for that or do i need to install another link checker such as AVG or Traffic LIght or anything else.
    thanx Gery

MBAM good but I can't fully rely on it. Use AVG link scanner or Traffic Light along with it. But my first choice would be WOT . Recommended .
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

I agree with INDRANIL, like link scanner, go with WOT, but sometimes results are strange for some reasons, so make your decision. Generaly said, WOT is great to have on browser...for better idea, where you are going CLICK. DR. Web is good antivirus from Russia, comimg version 7, should be better and lighter like this one. Or try something like ESET, same wait for final 5, or Vipre Antivirus, is very light on system recources and has great detection ratio.

For anyone using Firefox as their default browser, I would recommend LinkExtend.

LinkExtend provides ratings and site reports from 7 leading site advisory services, including WOT & SiteAdvisor.

Whatever antivirus you will choose I would add sandboxie for a safe surfing.
MBAM PRO has an IP Blocker, it won't detect infected scripts

As far as I know Dr Web lacks of a web protection hence it is important to disable javascript: Firefox + noscript do the job.

Remember WOT is not an antivirus but a Trust based system even though it is usually very good against malware/scam and phishing thanks to some Trusted Sources and some advanced users that are very active and share their experience

Well, I'd recommend keeping the Dr. Web Antivirus as real-time protection (it's actually one of the best ones if you don't consider the web protection). Keep MBAM for On-Demand scanning only (disable the real-protection). Use WOT for link checking.

This suggestion is based on the principle of using appropriate products in those areas in which they're best at.

Choose the right one by comparing you surfing habit . If you know what you are doing those simple setup would be enough for you . Or if you need more then you can consider GeSWall. An extra protection layer on your defense . Regards.
