Cool How would you protect your home PC:

I like keeping everything as simple as possible, so I would use either Antivirus + Firewall or Antivirus + Sandbox. How would you protect your home computer?

I'm on Linux. Linux doesn't need any protection except from rootkits. I voted for my Windows Laptop

AV + Firewall does it for me. Infact , sometimes I am not in favor of using firewall too ( I mean win firewall seems sufficient )

HIPS is included in almost all AV now, so not chosen that option

I'll begin with hardening Windows (e.g. LUA, EMET, other policy tweaks) and setting up a default-deny with SRP/Applocker (or a 3rd-party AE). Then, it's a matter of choosing whether to leave it at just that or add in sandbox, light virtualization, HIPS, AV, etc...depending on which program(s) suits the person behind the keyboard.
