    pCFLANK TEST OPINION

I got curious just today reading at wilders about the test and thought i might test my setup and see what happens
Guess what the test said i was in danger of trojans ports were wide open and my browser was not protected.
    i said whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaat?
I am usind Za Antivirus firewall and antivirus given from Raymond here . Do i need to worry about this test?
What is your opinion about the test itself. Should i change my setup and go with Comodo and Avg free?
    thanx in advance

if you already use a good router (with a hardware firewall build in), your antivirus of choice is able to detect 0 days threats thanks to a good heuristics module, you use a good HIPS or a Behavior Blocker, you do not need to be concerned in my opinion.
Just avoid shady sites (eg: Warez/Porn), never trust spammers, watch out of P2P/Filesharing (as they often carry infections), Keep your O.S, browser, Oracle Sun Java JRE, Flash Player and Adobe reader up to date, upload every suspicious file to Virustotal and ThreatExpert before running it.

Something like Sandboxie as well as disabling Java Script will help, also.

Those executable files you are talking about [PCFLANK TEST, I mean] are test files not so different from Eicar or Trojan Simulator

    Which firewall are you using?
i normally get two service ports open(port 135 and port 445) when i use Comodo firewall with
"alert me to all incoming connections and make my ports stealth on case by case basis"

and all ports stealth (as in passed) when i use
"block all incoming connections and make my port stealth for everyone"

but have to keep it at the previous option as uTorrent stops accepting incoming connections andstops uploading in the latter option

I am also using Comodo. If I remember correctly, I had to close Port 135 in my router to achieve true stealth. I don't game, or use torrents, and have never had any issue. A Guy

Dont worry Gery by this test result as you find thousand of test on the internet and even leading security product like kaspersky not pass on their reslult. You can see on spyshelter site where most of the secuirty suites failed in their test.
You should have believe in yuor security product and use your mind and decision to avoid getting infected.

P.S. My 14 year old cousin running pc without av from 3 years without getting infection and he goes to probably all types of sites on net

Close or open ports, not really a big issue as long as you are fully aware of what software ( netware ) you are putting inside your system.
