He has scanned using Mcafee, Spybot and Malwarebytes. Any suggestions on how to proceed further ? Is there any fake antivirus removal tool ?

Hi!
Use any Live CD
or
G Data FakeAVCleaner SystemTool http://blog.gdatasoftware.com/blog/article/fakeav-scams-do-not-stop.html
http://www.gdata.de/support/downloads/tools.html
or
DrWeb CureIt https://www.freedrweb.com/download+cureit+free/?lng=en

Good luck!

Thanks a lot. I suggested Dr. Web. GData, I had no idea is there. Will try for sure.

Can you collect the executable by any chance? Open Task Manager or third party task manager (Process Hacker/Process Explorer) to detect the process and locate the file. Scan that file in Virustotal. let us know which AVs are detecting it!
Or, download Norton Power Eraser
http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx?
Run a full scan. It will list suspicious files. Let those scan online. If it finds something unknown or malicious let us know.
Or, run Hitman Pro
http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro
run a default scan and note down the detections if any!

Thanks for the links guys. @ leo never meant any harm. Just want to give the link from which he suspected to have got the infection. Was planning to remove it myself today.
