Is this a Virus

two days ago bitdefender internet security 2012 Active virus Control detected this file C:\Windows\System32\taskeng.exe as malcious ....i don't know abut this..i hve run full system scan and bitdefender find nothing.....i also search in the google some sites says it is said virus some not.........

It is located where it should.. Looks legit... Ok don't worry just upload it to VirusTotal. It will tell the rest !! Relax and have a nice weekend.

Looks normal to me. every win oS has this file in same location. Its probable FP. Inform bit defender.

going to bit off topic discussion, why are you using this HP junk files . they slow the startup and are of virtually no use.

taskeng.exe from Windows\System32 is Task Scheduler Engine.
Try checking the file and see if the description says that.

i upload the file and it says file is OK .....

Although it looks legit but the file size is way too big at 453KB when mine is only at 188KB.
You're using Windows 7? 32bit or 64bit?

Its a window 7 64 bit

By the way, the 188KB is for Windows 7 32-bit.
