Hi all!
I am using AVG free 7.5.
I downloaded a zipped file from a web site last night, and as usual, I scanned it with my AVG before opening it. Then AVG reported to me that a virus was found:

Still, my AVG didn't provide me any tool or next step to kill the viruses found.
I am totally new to AVG and need some help from experienced AVG users
Please help if you could!

Are you able to see "which" file that is infected by the virus? Maybe you can just delete the infected files and keep the rest.

I just couldn't act bravely open it in winrar, thinking that would trigger off a crisis to my PC.
Do you know about the virus, Raymond?

You won't be infected if you extract the files. As long as you don't run the virus, then you're fine.

I am totally confused here raymond! Please help clarify!
I used to think that all viruses would run themselves automatically on the infected hosts, and so I didn't extarct the files.

Not really.
Here's an example. Brontok virus copies itself to every shared folders on network. When you look at the folder, it will have a new file and that's the virus. If you don't run it, you are not INFECTED.
You only have virus on your computer but you're not infected. It's different meaning.
